APRS troubles - Nuvi 350 losing signals thru GTRANS cable to TM-D710

My APRS has been working fine for a couple years, then stopped displaying nearby stations in Nuvi 'Favorites' list or sending my position out. Radio is receiving stations, but not getting them to display on Nuvi. Have tried reconnecting cables - ArgentData GTRANS NMEA translator. A couple weeks ago, the station positions stopped displaying for a few days - then suddenly started to operate correctly. Worked OK for a couple weeks, then again stopped - after feeding my position for a few blocks.

Tying to diagnose - is the cable dropping connection or is the Nuvi deaf & dumb? Anyone have any experience with the GTRANS cable intermittent connection? Or Nuvi glitches? Found one forum post that a Nuvi had stopped posting station positions, but a replacement Nuvi worked. Ttied resetting Nuvi - same results.

Any ideas I can try to diagnose this glitch?

    Thanks

    Updating progress on diagnosis:

I e-mailed to Argent Data for advice on the translation cable testing - suggested to check for loosened connections to circuit board - seem to be solid. Next step is to connect Nuvi to computer with translator cable - need to source connectors & wire up the test cable.

Another step along the diagnosis process.

    Further update.

Wired up the cable & tried connection Nuvi to computer. Nothing. Translation cable sent back to manufacturer for indepth checking.

    Further Update - SOLVED!

Sent cable back to manufacturer (they sent free mailing label). Found the USB connector making intermittent connections. Replaced connector, updated firmware & returned to me - only had to pay GST & processing fee.

It works just fine. GREAT service from Argent Data Systems.
