SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLERS AND Battery CHARGING

  • 04 Feb 2018 6:23 AM
    Message # 5717050

I am experimenting with  SOLAR charging of a Lithium Ion Battery

I had a PBox.  and a small solar panel already.  Came across an 8.5 Amp solar charge controller that I am hoping will serve my needs

TEST RUN of a Lithium Ion Battery

    P-BOX 12.5 AHh 9-12.6V Nax voltage 12.6

    2018-02-05 12:39:46 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.5V. for 2hrs 15 min shade

    2018-02-05 22:54:40 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.2V. for 4hrs 15 min shade

    2018-02-06 02:09:39 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.1V. for 4hrs 15 min dark

    2018-02-06 06:24:39 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.0V. for 5hrs 45 min dark

    2018-02-06 11:09:38 MST: VE6DWX- Voyager U=11.9V. for 3hrs 0 min sun

    2018-02-06 15:09:38 MST: VE6DWX- Voyager U=11.8V. for 2hrs 15 min sun

    2018-02-06 17:24:37 MST: VE6DWX- Voyager U=11.7V. shade  end

not charging  /  could it be that Battery has diode in + lead?

TEST RUN of PK35-12 12Volt 35Ah SLA BATTERY

with 1watt Solar panel facing south west

    2018-02-07 22:51:39 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.9V.

    2018-02-08 01:51:33 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.8V.

    2018-02-08 04:36:38 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.9V.

    2018-02-08 04:51:39 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.8V.

    2018-02-08 20:06:36 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.8V.

    2018-02-09 07:36:36 MST: VE6DWX-Voyager U=12.7V.

    SUNRISE

MAX SOLAR PANEL VOLTAGE ~13 V FOR SHORT TIME ~ 15:00

    SUNSET

    2018-02-09 18:06:35 MST: VE6DWX-,PIGEON:Voyager U=12.6V

    2018-02-09 22:22:15 MST: VE6DWX-VE6RBN:Voyager U=12.6V.

    2018-02-10 01:51:32 MST: VE6DWX- Voyager U=12.5V.

    SUNRISE 07:58

    SUNSET 17:44

    2018-02-10 19:51:30 MST: VE6DWX- Voyager U=12.4V.

    SUNRISE 07:56

    2018-02-11 10:36:28 MST: VE6DWX- Voyager U=12.3V.

MAX SOLAR PANEL VOLTAGE ~13.5 V FOR SHORT TIME ~ 12:30

    SUNSET 17:45
